About ME
I am a lifelong, energetic, passionate, and encouraging musician and teacher that focuses primarily on woodwinds. I have a deep love and appreciation for music, and I believe that students should find their musical passion and harness that drive and apply it towards their studies.
Methods Used
Every student has a unique learning method, and lessons are catered towards the goals and interests of each student. I find that solo repertoire helps gauge abilities and direct students towards achievable goals, although fundamentals will always be reviewed. Method books are recommended based on individual students, however I recommend these as starting points:
Kloses Methods (all instruments)
J. Weissenborn Methods (Bassoon)
Dan Grassers Chops (Saxophone)
Taffanel and Gaubert Methods (Flute)
Teacher’s Philosophy
I believe that music is a universal language everybody can and should learn. I have enjoyed playing and performing music all my life, and I have found an even greater joy in seeing students flourish as passionate musicians. I provide a safe and welcoming space for students, and encourage a lighthearted and fun learning environment.
