Education & Experience
Bachelor of Science in Speech Communications & 3 minors in Music, Landscape Architecture and Ornamental Horticulture from Utah State University. I was also a Jazz DJ of speciality shows @ the NPR station at USU. Played drums and Percussion in the Utah State Jazz Ensembles for 4 years.
In LA was a Jazz DJ @ other NPR stations.
In S.Pasadena I took Drum Lessons from Bill Douglas who was the Director of Drum City in Hollywood who played with Billie Holiday and other jazz greats of the 40’s.
I played in the High School Band & Marching Band.
Played @ Pasadena city college Jazz Rock Ensemble for 2 years under the direction of Glen Stuart, the 1st Trumpet player for the The Don Ellis Orchestra
In LA I worked in Sales Marketing for 20 years while playing in various bands for Elk’s clubs, Weddings, anniversaries and Restaurant Clubs and performance spaces.
Played Taiko drums in a Buddhist Monastery for almost 2 years where I added my Djembe and Drum Kit to the mix.

Performance Credits
Played drums and Percussion in small Jazz combos in Restaurants & cafes as well as with Community drum circles & community chant and devotional music collectives.
Played Percussion and sang in the Self Realization fellowship temple singers in Encinitas Ca.

Teaching Credits
Taught elementary students on Practice pads to prepare for drum and percussion instruments.
Taught the Remo Drum Healthy Rhythms protocol and was a Healthy Rhythms Facilitator @ the World Beat Center, Nursing homes and memory care centers.

About Me
I was greatly influenced by my father who played piano and organ professionally in Chicago Illinois. He played with some big band players of the time. I got my 1st toy drum set when I was 7 years old. My dad had a vast record collection and introduced me to all the jazz greats. We moved to South Pasadena CA when I was 10years old.
