Music Together - Renee formed North County Music Together in 2001, teaching classes for families with babies - age 4 children until 2005.

As of June 2023, Renee has successfully coached 70 students through their practical exams for the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) program.  This is an internationally recognized certificate program.  In a practical exam, students demonstrate proficiency in scales & arpeggios, 3-4 melodic studies from each of the four musical time periods, as well as accompanied and unaccompanied repertoire and demonstration of various ear training and rhythm proficiencies.

About ME
One of my greatest joys is getting together with my flute friends in ensembles, I also enjoy creating in general - I love gardening, sewing, crochet, reupholstering, refinishing furniture and laser engraving.

Methods Used
Lessons are catered to the students skills and interest. Method books are chosen on an individual basis. However, these books are frequently used:

• Blocki Flute Method, Kathy Blocki
• Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) Overtones Series

Teacher’s Philosophy
My desire is that each student will gain a lifelong ability to participate in music, whether it be listening, playing with others, or just enjoying playing for themselves.  Every student learns differently and over the years I have learned many different approaches to accomplish the goal of producing lifelong learners, listeners, and participants in the language of music, and the joy and nourishment this skill provides to every heart and soul!
